Re: Education Committee Elections 2006
On Sunday, May 28, 2006 the annual elections of members to the Parish Education Committee will take place. The nature of the Catholic school is to foster the Christian community in which Faith grows and is nourished. All candidates who are nominated for election must be people of Faith that are committed to Catholic schools and to the fostering of the Christian community in their parish. With this in mind, there should be no compaigning during the election.
Your Nominating Committee for this election consists of Sam Pantusa and Pina Camerin with the guidance of Pastor Richard Bezzegato. If you have any interest in running for a position on the Parish Education Committee, please ensure you submit your Nomination Form to any of these three individuals no later than May 12, 2006. The Nomination Forms are available at the Rectory and must be duly completed, and signed by Father Richard Bezzegato, to be valid forms. Copies of the forms will also be available on the Parish and School websites.
There are 3 elected positions to be filled this year. Eligible for nomination: practicing Catholics, approved by the Pastor who are eligible to vote in the parish and have reached the age of twenty-one (21), with the following exceptions:
- teachers and principal of the school;
- past employees of the school until three full calendar years have passed since termination of employment;
- employees of the parish and/or school;
- spouses, children, parents, brothers and sisters of persons covered as above;
- all other teachers/principals employed by C.I.S.V.A.
The Nominating Committee will be posting the list of candidates running for election by May 20 - 21. Voting will take place on Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th. The polls will be open after each Mass for one hour. One hour after the last Mass the polls will close. If you are uncertain as to whether you are an eligible voter, please contact the Rectory for clarification.
The new Parish Education Committee will be announced before the end of the school year.
Please direct any questions you have to the Rectory or members of the Nominating Committee.
Sincerely,
Father Richard Bezzegato
